This hall consists of 12 showcases, two of them split the hall into two smaller rooms with a wide corridor between them. The showcases' numbering is clockwise, entering the hall from left to right. The exhibits are arranged in the showcases by geological periods, from earliest to latest period, clockwise again. There are species showing the evolution of organisms and their diversity through different eras. The highlights are the specimens from Bulgaria showing the geological history of the country. The most interesting and attractive exhibits are: trilobites, graptolites (showcase 1), giant fossil ferns (showcase 2), a giant two-part amonite Crioceras (showcase 3), many Miocene rhino fossils, giraffes, elephants (showers 5-9), cave bear bones, mammoth and rhinoceros teeth, as well as caveman tools (showcases 11-12).
