232. Rosy starling
The rosy starling, Pastor roseus, lives in numerous colonies reaching thousands, and in the past - hundreds of thousands of birds. It prefers to nest among rocky screes, as the main food of the rosy starling is a variety of migratory grasshoppers. Its habitats often change depending on the grasshopper’s population. A valuable feature of this species is that, even when birds are not feeding, they continue to kill grasshoppers, leaving them uneaten.
