Red Piranha
The red piranha (Pygocentrus nattereri) inhabits the big rivers of South America. It is found in the Amazon river, Parana river and the Uruguay river. The maximum registered size of the piranha is 50 cm. in length and 50 kg in weight. The red piranha lives in schools with hierarchies inside. Carnivore fish, it feeds on smaller and bigger fish, amphibians, birds and etc. It is colored in gray and it has a distinctive orange to red bottom.
